Ephemera and Books on TRADES & OCCUPATIONS, TRANSPORTATION & TRAVEL, GOVERNMENT & SOCIAL ISSUES, and the DECORATIVE ARTS. The uncommon & unusual across many fields. All with an emphasis on California and Asia.

We have been selling books online for more than two decades. Our primary site for offering ephemera and books is andrewlangerbookseller.com, where most of our stock is offered. We also offer a select group of items at papeREAL.com. Most of these will not be found elsewhere (a few are offers at much lower prices).

I am a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) since 2016, of the Independent Online Booksellers Association (IOBA) since 2006 and serve as Chair of the IOBA Internet Committee. I meet or exceed the standards of ethical trade promoted by ABAA and IOBA and encourage you to also consider visiting other members when looking to purchase books. I am also a graduate of the 2013 Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS, now held in Minnesota). All items are carefully described, often pictured (with additional images readily available upon request), carefully packaged for safe transit to you, and returnable.

We would like to hear from you. Please write if you have any questions about this site, or the ephemera and books here (or not here), or just want to chat about books.

Eddie Cantor [1892 - 1964], born Isidore Itzkowitz, was an American performer on Broadway, radio, television and more. Known for many things, some of his songs include If You Knew Susie, Makin' Whoopie, the Merrie Melodies Warner Bros. cartoon theme and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. He is also well known for his work with the March of Dimes and as a politically active Democrat. Published in 1932 was one of his books, titled Your Next President. Much less known is this sheet music, not seen in the trade and with but six copies located in institutions (by OCLC, 8/20). Youtube offers a few verses on audio from the 1953 "The Eddie Cantor Story" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiKYmQ17rCM. The caricatures and verses are both quite satirical, and they take on Congress, Dawes (Charles G., first Director of the Bureau of the Budget and Mister Mellon (Andrew, Secretary of the Treasury), among others. The 1932 election took place during the Depression. Dawes and Mellon were both retired from their positions when the Democrats won.
